My Far Roofs campaign is closing down, but the obsession doesn't stop!!!

The dramatic conflict rules create a series of back-and-forths, escalating as you try to outbid your opponent's cards, then ending on rolls for both offense and defense. This creates a lot of opportunity for dramatic reversals and oh hey what's that other thing I've been getting into with a lot of dramatic reversals...

Assign each of the following a number 1-4, without repeating

♠️: Overwhelming physical force ♥️: Force of presence or personality ♣️: Martial or magical skill, honed to perfection ♦️: An identifying feature, such as a legendary treasure

A recurring beat in Far Roofs dramatic conflicts is the "boast," when a player plays a card from their hand and describes a particular advantage their character has. This isn't quite the same thing as narrating the attack, because a boast can be preempted by someone else playing a higher card and making their own boast. (So, for you might play a 5 and make a boast of "long claws gleam in the moonlight," then your opponent says "lightning sparks from her fingertips" and plays a 9, taking the active player slot). What I'm doing here is tying the nature of that boast to the suit of the card you're playing, providing more specific prompts. Might include something about not needing to worry about re-describing every time you play a suit in a single combat, but we'll see

After the highest card is played, both the attacker and defender make a roll. In standard Far Roofs, this roll can really be based on any of your stats, as long as it fits the fiction... which means there's an incentive to narrate how you're consistently using your best stats for that roll. that's like, very normal for TTRPGs, but I want to do something different here. By tying the stats to the suits you're playing instead, I'm adding more variation and introducing a tension between playing a higher card but a worse suit, or playing a lower card with a better suit.
