hearing about new TTRPGs even slightly outside my typical strike zone is like, really hard. I have communities I'm part of, I have recurring "oh year i should check if there's new magical girl game" thoughts, I have friends who make Exalted references every so often, and those are all good ways to find games I think. But they're not nearly enough for actually keeping up with new developments, y'know?
Fortunately I check twitter just often enough (bad) and find just the right indie designers (good) to remember Zephyr, and after remembering enough times I finally read it and this is an EXTREMELY promising system
You're playing as weird little dudes (nonhuman) who don't even have emotions human-style, theirs blends together from different colors that make up their being. Character creation involves finishing a myth in-character, but also spending randomized resources. The main skill check-type mechanic is "present a random number of tokens, the GM does the same" instead of dice rolling. It's incredibly refreshing design tech, even just from the free preview.
It's also the only TTRPG I'm aware of that cites David Graeber's work on debt as an inspiration. there's a lot going on here and literally all of it is exciting.
