archive disruption as an inconvenience to me personally

you're probably aware that archive.org is down right now. i wish them all the best and want them to take all the time they need to make sure everything is safe and secure before opening back up.

but

this coincidentally lines up with my impromptu attempts at digital archeology on indie ttrpg twitter, which, i forget if archive.org even stores tweets, but, either way it's thrown a wrench into my efforts here

the good news is you can get at old tweets with the Wayback Machine (when it's functioning, anyway)
the bad news is the archival status of any given twitter page is far from guaranteed and it's a bitch and a half to navigate

It's a huge problem for me because I use Wayback so much not just for archiving but also retrieving things. It's my main source when a reference has decayed. Not being able to use it is aggravating.

It was back up at some point this morning, although it's down again now. I know because I had a couple of pages load from it.

oh hey as of RIGHT NOW the wayback itself seems to be back up as a read-only function
